Chris, Matt and family,
I have very fond memories of your father! I remember he drove me and a friend to one of MHS soccer games way out of town. I am sorry for your loss and my prayer for you is that your wonderful memories if your father help you get through this difficult time.

It was a privilege and a pleasure to have worked with Michael and to have been his friend. He was smart, kind, funny, and always a gentleman. He holds a significant place in the fabric of my life.

Our sincere condolences to the family. May you find comfort in knowing that God collects our tears and is close to the brokenhearted ready to comfort us in our moment of need. - Psalm 56:8

Mike (and his boss at LIMRA John Donohue) hired me for my first real job in the business world. I quickly realized he was a man of ideas and deeply held beliefs. We often talked about books and writing for way longer than a young employee should have. But Mike was my immediate supervisor, so no worries! I lost touch with Mike many years ago. But I'll never forget the wonderful conversations we had.

Michael was a huge part of a great Publications Unit at LIMRA. Michael was a mentor, friend, and example for me. A quotation from Mitch Albom's "Tuesdays with Morrie" says it well: "Death ends a life but not a relationship."

To The Entire Petersen Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Mike for many years at LIMRA and also driving with him to and from work - he once wrote a classic "Mike" article for our employee quarterly newsletter called The Torch, describing, only as Mike could with his dry sense of humor and his talent for writing, one of our adventures home from work.
I also had the great pleasure of playing basketball at MHS with his daughter Ginny and my younger brother and sister also went to school with some of the Petersen Clan. Mike was so proud of all of his children.
We are keeping you all in our prayers in the loss of this great guy. We pray that God will hold you close and the memories that Mike created for you will live in your hearts forever.
With sincere sympathy

Our sympathies to the whole Petersen clan. Garry and I will always remember your Dad fondly. We had a great game night with your parents not very long ago when we visited them in Pensacola. It was a lot of fun. We got to see a light hearted side of him that will remain a great memory for us. With love from Tracy and Garry Albert
