Michelle Kinsella Obituary

Michelle T. Kinsella, 53, of Wethersfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The daughter of Edwin and Julie (Young) Kinsella she was born in New Britain. Michelle's energy was contagious and her adoration for life, love and giving were unconditional and paramount. Her strength and resilience were defining characteristics as was her grace and beauty. The courage she mastered and the heart she shared is our guidance.

Mish attended UConn and graduated with her Doctorate in Educational Psychology and Counseling. Dr. Kinsella was a founding partner of Restorative Counseling and Wellness in West Hartford combining her career with her passions by using art therapy to help those in need to express their emotions. Shelly was a creative savant and excelled in every medium gifting everyone and anyone her paintings, illustrations, jewelry and crafts made with love. She cherished her puppies, Cranberry and Dobby taking them on long hikes and traveling with them to bring people together! Michelle was known as a premiere holiday host and cooking five-star meals for the entire family. To attend one of her get togethers was a pleasure and an honor, making you feel right at home but also a special guest in her presence. Michelle was loving, funny, responsible, joyous, energetic, a warrior of peace and our prophet of hope. She will be forever missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

I am grateful for having been Mish's friend for so long, to have shared so many memories and moments on this earth plane. May she have known the love and light that she gifted so readily. Our entire family was touched by her kindness, generosity, creativity, and playful spirit. This painting, called "in my heart" shares my sensing of where Mish's spirit and soul are now embraced....much love, abbe miller & family

Condolences & sympathy for all who love Michelle!
Michelle had a lasting impact on many of us who were lucky enough to grow up with Maddie & Lizzie. She was wise, gentle, funny, creative, funky, and so cool. I will forever love spotting and appreciating her illustrations throughout Maddie and Will's home; and I will cherish one particularly special one that she made for me many years ago. Michelle was so nurturing and made me feel seen. Thank you for that always.
