Mukundan Shivaram Obituary
Mukundan Shivaram, 59, of Naperville, IL and a former resident of Enfield, died Sunday, (September 15, 2002) at his home. He was born July 3, 1943, in Lahore, India and came to the United States in 1967 and was very proud to be a citizen. He was educated in Lawrence School, Lovedale in Ooty, India. He went on to the Indian Institute of Technology (ITT), Madras for his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. When he came to the United States, he received his Masters degree in Engineering from Tennessee Technological Institute in Cookeville, TN. He was employed by First National Stores in Boston and was asked to go to Windsor Locks to set up a new computer system for distribution. He then returned to Boston and was employed by SCA Services and Waste Management. In 1987, he moved to Chicago to work for World Wide Chain Store Systems. In 1987, he became a founding partner of the British American Consulting Group (BACG). This company grew to a staff of over 500 people with offices in the U.S., U.K., South Africa, Holland and Australia. In 1995, he formed his own company, Bridgeways International, Inc. and until his death had been working closely with the Government of India on his innovated invention to lay roads in India. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Chillson) Shivaram; his daughter, Shanti Shivaram, both of Naperville, IL; two sisters, Prassana Nair M.D. and her husband, Padmanbham Nair Ph.D. of Ellicott City, MD and Lolitha Nayer Ph.D. and her husband, Gopala Krishnan Nayer of Bombay, India; three nephews, Balagopal Nair and his wife, Karen Meyer of Stowe, MA, Jaygopal Nair, M.D. of Nashville, TN and Ramgopal Nair of Ellicott City, MD; a niece, Ajana Nair M.D. and her husband, Ashokan Nair, M.D. of Dubai, U.A.E. and many more nieces and nephews in Connecticut; three great grandnephews; his mother-in-law, Eileen (Richardson) Chillson of Enfield; his grandmother-in-law, Mary E. Richardson of Pittsford, NY; a brother-in-law, Richard H. Chillson, Jr. of Enfield; his sisters-in-law, Judy Cofer and her husband, Jack Cofer of Enfield, Jayne "Dee Dee" Chillson of East Hartford, Joanne Fitzsimons and her husband, Colin Fitzsimons of King of Prussia, PA, Janet Boberek and her husband, Thomas Boberek of Ellington, Jeri St. John and her husband, Russ St. John of Somers and Jodi Lippi and her husband, Jack Lippi of Ellington. He was predeceased by his parents, Thanu Mukundan Nair and Kanthimathi (Pullai) Nair. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, 4 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
