Peter Doucette Obituary

Peter M. Doucette, 57, of Bloomfield, CT passed away on February 14, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses. He was born on July 16, 1961 in Melrose, MA, and graduated from North Reading High School and Framingham State University. He worked as an actuary for Boston Mutual Insurance Company (Canton, MA), the Wyatt Company (Washington, D.C.) and The Hartford Insurance Company (Simsbury, CT). He became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1994. He truly enjoyed his occupation but had to leave work in 2004 due to illness.He was a lifelong fan of all Boston professional and Boston College sports teams. He also enjoyed playing sports such as golf, racquetball, baseball, football, softball and hockey until illness prevented his participation. He will always be remembered for his big personality and laugh. He is survived by his life partner, Joan Crandall, his mother, Loretta Healy, his sisters Laurie Doucette (Shawn Collins) and Cheri Colonna (Anthony Colonna), a niece, and several nephews, cousins and aunts.No services are planned. I fondly remember Peter as a young actuarial student at Boston Mutual Life. He always had a smile on his face, as did everyone who came in contact with him. RIP Peter.
