Peter Papadopoulos

Peter Papadopoulos, a born comedian, mathematical wunderkind, spirited polemicist, marketing executive, entrepreneur, sometimes Buddhist, lifelong gambler and martini (or two)-a-day drinker, has died. He passed peacefully at his home in Windsor, Connecticut, surrounded by his wife, Claudia Gober, and children. Born into a Greek immigrant family on the outskirts of Providence, Rhode Island, in 1941, he forged an improbable path from poverty to a perch in the upper echelons of corporate America. He was a man of many, and varied, interests: horse-racing, crossword puzzles, running, basketball, Woody Allen movies, cribbage and bridge, among others. Peter is survived by Claudia as well as his first wife, Josephine Marchetti, his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Frank Dupuis, his five children – Jill, Peter, David, Mark and Cara – and 13 grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Angelina Rouvelas, and his father, Anastasios Papadopoulos, as well as Josephine's parents, Anthony and Eleanor Marchetti, with whom he forged a strong and enduring bond. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT with a Service and stories from the family to follow.
