Peter Parlow Obituary

Peter Parlow, 81, passed away at the Hospital of Central Connecticut on December 11, 2020 due to complications of COVID19. He was born on March 5, 1939 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Peter was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Denise Jacques Parlow, just six months ago. He was the son of the late Norman and Doris (Cruff) Parlow. Peter's first job at 16 was setting up duck pins in the Bristol Bowling Alley and he became an avid duck pin bowler playing in many championship games. Peter served in the US Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon completion of his military service, Peter went to work at State Glass in Hartford, and then later to Suburban Glass in Farmington. He then decided to open his own glass company, All Glass, in 1972 originally located at a big red barn on West Avon Road, Avon. Pete then moved his All Glass Company to Industrial Park, Avon, where he was in business for 48 years. Pete loved having coffee every morning with his buddies at Luke's in Avon. Pete loved UCONN Women's Basketball, he was a season ticket owner for the Hartford Whalers Hockey Team, and everyone knew his love for the Boston Red Sox since he was just a kid. Pete is survived by his brother Norman and wife Pat of San Angelo, Texas, his sister Shirley and her husband Benny Christolini of Bristol and his sister Darlene Rodgers of Avon. He was predeceased by a sister Eleanore Duprey of Bristol. Pete will be missed by so many nieces and nephews. He also had a very special niece, Brittany Enders, that was so good to him and whose children, Madelyn, Molly and John lovingly called "Grampa Pete". Private funeral services will be held for the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Bidwell Square, Unionville, CT 06085. Arrangements are being handled by the Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., www.ahernfuneralhome.com.

This man was a good friend of my Dad. John Marek. Aunts and uncles too. He came to visit my father at his shop in Stafford Springs a few years before my father passed. Love and prayers to all who loved him.

So sorry to hear of Peters passing. He was one fun person. I worked in the construction field and our paths would cross all the time. Always had a good story to tell. He will be missed. RIP Peter.

My heart is broken to hear of Peter's passing. He and Dee Dee were my first babysitters and oh, the fun we had! Heaven has another angel and he has joined his forever love in paradise. God bless you Peter and may you rest in peace.

To Pete’s loved ones,
I extend to each of you my sincere condolences.
I was an All Glass customer, Pete always ready to help, and DeeDee so helpful too.
I’m a born and raised Hartford girl, Yankee fan, shared with Pete at a visit, DeeDee looking on, conversation got a little testy, so much fun.
May he Rest In Peace up in the Heavens.

So so sad to hear of Pete's passing. Our hearts are breaking as one of the world's kindest people has left this earth. Each time we think of him, the sweet gracious teddy bear who had a warm smile and caring hug for everyone.
Peace to you Pete as you are together again with Dee Dee. We will miss you.
