Philip F. Rizzuto Sr.

1943 - 2017

Philip "Chich" F. Rizzuto, Sr., 73, of Glastonbury and formerly of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Barbara (McGrath) Rizzuto, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017. Born in Hartford, son of the late Albert and Adeline (Torza) Rizzuto, Sr. he was raised in Windsor and lived here most of his life. He was employed by Stanadyne for over 30 years before retiring when he started Phil Rizzuto's Dugout, a mobile food trailer he operated in Windsor and Bloomfield for five years. He was a former member of the Wilson Fire Department, the French Club, and the Moose Lodge of East Hartford. He was a life member of Manchester Lodge # 1893 BPOE, (formerly Windsor #2060). He leaves his sons Philip Rizzuto, Jr. of Ellington and Daniel Rizzuto (Nancy) of Enfield; four grandchildren Samantha Barbara Rizzuto, Courtney Lynn Rizzuto, Gina Marie Rizzuto, and Anthony Philip Rizzuto; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Albert Rizzuto, Jr., and his sister Ann Marie LaChance, who died a day before Phil. His family will receive friends Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. The Elks will conduct a service at 7 pm. Family and friends may gather Friday, April 7, 2017, 9 am at Carmon's followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at St. Gertrude's Church, Matianuck Avenue, Windsor.
