Raymond Dumont Obituary

Raymond L. Dumont, 83, of South Windsor, husband of the late Jeannine (Marquis) Dumont, died peacefully joining his beloved wife in Heaven just seven days after her passing, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born in Van Buren, ME in March of 1940. He was the son of the late Omer and Marguerite (Roi) Dumont. He was a graduate of Van Buren Boys High School, and went on to graduate With a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Husson University. He met the love of his life, Jeannine, in 1957 and they were married in 1960. Together they lived in Bangor, ME, South Windsor, CT, Milton, MA, Midland, TX, Kingston, MA, and finally returned to South Windsor in 2010. Raymond spent his early years growing up and working the land on his family's potato and dairy farm…Then Raymond worked his way to become a successful executive leader in the Newspaper business. Starting as a junior Accountant, he worked his way up to the controller for the Hartford Times and Boston Herald. He would then become the general manager for the Midland Reporter Telegram and Plano Daily Herald in Texas, and later the business office manager for the New Britain Herald. Raymond retired as a consultant for Fidelity. He enjoyed boating, lobstering, sports, outdoor projects, gardening, international travel, and family time. He was a career and family focused man. As a young man, he was a member of the Columbian Squires, an active Rotarian, Chamber of Commerce member, and Treasurer for his Condo Association. He leaves his 2 living children. Oldest son Troy Dumont and wife Anne of Big Timber, MO, and their children … Zain Dumont and wife Hannah, Seth Dumont, and wife Catherine, Jezreel Dumont and wife Shé, Debra (Dumont) Claborn and husband Corey, Zachary Dumont and Abigail, Abraham Dumont, and wife Amiel, Simeon Dumont, and Luke Dumont. His youngest son, Craig Dumont and wife Carol of Wolcott, CT, and their children…Noah Dumont, and Avah Dumont. Raymond also leaves his brothers, Lorn Dumont of Ft. Kent, ME, and Wilfred Dumont of Naples, FL; his sister, Pauline Daigle of Massachusetts, and dozens of loved nieces and nephews across the country. He was predeceased by his son, Tary John Dumont, his daughter, Kelly Dumont, his siblings, Henry Dumont, Gerard Dumont, Claude Dumont, Armand Dumont, Hilda Gardner, Geraldine Dinsmore-Taylor, Lillian Dostie, Gertrude Michaud, and Jeanette Donahue. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 4-7 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, 10 a.m., meeting directly at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor.
