Raymond Phillippe Joseph Durette

Raymond "Ray" Philippe Durette, age 90 of Fresno, CA, passed away on May 17, 2023. Raymond was born in Fall River, MA and graduated from Prevost High School. He served as a TSgt in the Air Force at Nellis AFB in NV, Sewart AFB in TN and later as a reservist at Westover AFB in MA. He was employed at Pratt & Whitney for 35 years in experimental and testing. He attended UConn for a degree in horticulture. He was the first Cubmaster of Pack 390, established in 1969 in South Windsor, and he is still fondly remembered by many of his "cubs." He and his wife, Sylvia, raised their children in South Windsor, CT. They later settled in Dayton, OH where he was a member of Greenview Calvary Tabernacle Church. Raymond is survived by his 5 children: JoAnne Durette of South Windsor CT, James and Darlene (Jankowski) Durette of Dayton OH, Edward and Luz Mery (Salinas) Durette of East Hartford CT, Joseph and Wendy (Clawson) Durette of South Windsor CT, and Paula Durette of Fresno CA. He also leaves behind 4 grandsons: Andrew Durette of Fresno CA, Aaron Durette of East Hartford CT, Timothy Durette of Dayton OH, and Jeremy Durette of Fresno CA, his brother, Roger and Mariette (Trepanier) Durette of Fall River MA and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by his wife Sylvia (Murray) Durette, parents: Lorenzo and Maria (Salois) Durette, step mother Alberta (Dube) Durette, brothers Norman, Leodore "George", Bertrand "Pete", and sisters; Ste Gilbert, Loretta (Mains), and Irene (Thibault.) Viewing will be at Kindred Funeral Home in Englewood, OH on May 31 from 9:00 am -10:00 am with a service by Rev. Dr. Tim Livingston beginning at 10:00 am. A family only Private Graveside Service will be held at Dayton National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Greenview Calvary Tabernacle Church in Dayton, OH.
