Raymond Racine Obituary

Raymond J. Racine, 67, of Vernon, CT, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2021. He was born in Willimantic, CT on June 4, 1954 to Edward and Ruth (Smith) Racine. He grew up in Willimantic and was employed with the State of Connecticut at the Department of Developmental Disabilities as a painter until his retirement several years ago. Prior to that he worked at Brand Rex Cable Company. Raymond was an avid NY Yankees fan. He loved softball, swimming, and was an avid bowler and pool player. He also enjoyed off track betting, the casino, and playing bingo. Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion and a veteran from the Marine Corps. Raymond is survived by his children, Eric Racine, Adam Racine and Jessica Gottier; grandchildren, Kailynne Gottier and Kadryk Racine; his former wife, Sherri Farr; his stepdaughter Jennifer and her son Jayden; his brothers, David Racine, Peter Racine and his wife Rhonda; sister Gayle and her husband Juan Osuba; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pam Carpenter. Raymond's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 1 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
