Richard Blake Obituary

BLAKE, Richard "Dicky" Richard "Dicky" Blake, 59, of Niantic, formerly of Canton, died Tuesday, (May 19, 2009) suddenly after an accident at work. He was born August 14, 1949 in Portland, ME, son of the late Lawrence and Mary Blake. He served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard and was a member of the Ironworkers Local #15 for 39 years. Dicky loved spending time with family, watching the Red Sox and UCONN basketball, fishing, reading, cooking and relaxing at the beach. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 31 years, Barbara (Caron) Blake; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Guerry Dotson of Canton, Wendy and Charles Batan of Canton and Tammy and Tad Fradsham of Oxford, MA; a sister, Mary Marfyak of Canton; his brother, Kenny Blake of California; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren, Taylor and Brooke Dotson, Nicole, Amber and Charley Batan, Sonya Haedo and Erika, Amanda and Kaylee Fradsham; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Caron and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry and his father-in-law, Gilman Caron. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, TODAY, May 21, 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 22, 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 7 Burlington Avenue, Collinsville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a Veteran's organization or support your local food pantry. Barbara we our so sorry about Dicky. I had just seen him a couple of weeks ago. We remember how much fun we had at the Mystic festival. If their is anything we can do please call.
