Richard M. Dupnik

1949 - 2020

Richard Dupnik, 70, of Plainville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. He was born on June 23, 1949 in New Britain to the late Charles and Ann (Kordek) Dupnik. A graduate of Xavier High School in Middletown, Richard worked at the Stanley Works in New Britain, retiring, as he always said he would, after 25 years. He was blessed with a remarkable sense of humor, a deep devotion to his faith, and an ability to converse with anyone. He was passionate about history and learning his ancestry; traveling to Poland many times, where he met his wife. Richard loved to celebrate Easter and Christmas, and for many years, he and his wife enthusiastically hosted family dinners to honor the holidays. Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lucyna (Byczkowska); his son Joseph; brother, Charles; sisters, Marcia and Diane. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, Feb. 23 from 4-7pm at the Duska Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt Street, New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at Holy Cross Church, New Britain at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24. He will be laid to rest privately.
