Richard F. Gemme

Richard F."Rich" Gemme, 70, lifelong resident of Enfield passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Arthur Sr. and Ruth (Ganner) Gemme. Rich was a long distance truck driver for many years. He retired from construction as a heavy equipment operator. Rich was a member of the Free Mason PM Dorick Lodge #94 (Thompsonville) and a Junior Wardon at the church rectory of St. Mary Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, the beach, and warm weather but his true joy in life was spending time with his children and family. In addition to his loving wife, Ann (Kakos) Gemme, he is survived by eight children, Karen Gemme of Tolland, Penni Christina and her husband, Jim of Glastonbury, Ginger-Lee Gemme of Sunnyvale, California, Chad Gemme of Enfield, Terra Lapalm and her husband, Cary of Georgia, Timothy Gemme of Colorado, and Nickolas Gemme of Enfield; four beloved grandchildren, Angela and Alayna Christina, Christian and Chastity M. Gemme. Richard was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Gemme, Jr., and a step-daughter Chastity Paquette. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Friday August 18 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service in remembrance of Richard's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Holy Trinity Church, 383 Hazard Ave, Enfield, CT 06082. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery, Elm St, Enfield.
