Richard SNOW Obituary



SNOW, Richard E., Jr.
Richard E. Snow, Jr, 70, of Groton, peacefully passed away Thursday (June 6, 2013) at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London. He was born on Oct. 12, 1942 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Richard E. and Fannie Dodge Snow, Sr. A graduate of University of Connecticut, Richard spent his career in finance at various local businesses. He was the proud father of Karen Snow of Brooklyn, NY, Jonathan Snow of East Hartford, and Amanda Snow of Newport Beach, CA and the loving grandfather of Mackenzie and Natalie Bunnell and Taylor and Mason Snow. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Leslie Snow, his nieces Melissa Snow-Cocroft and Laura Snow and nephew Joshua Snow. Richard loved boating, camping, music, the UConn Huskies men and women's basketball teams, antique cars and the freedom of being on his motorcycle. He had an enduring love for nature and animals which he imparted to his family. Richard grew up in Coventry, RI and spent the majority of his adulthood in Old Saybrook and Groton.
Richard will be remembered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 at Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St, New London. Following the service, family and friends will gather at Great Neck Country Club in Waterford. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in support of Parkinson's disease research to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in tribute to Richard.
