Robert C. Aldridge

Robert Carl Aldridge, 81, went home to the Lord on Nov. 23, 2019, where he joined his father, George Francis Aldridge and mother, Corinne Hult Aldridge, his beloved Grand- mother, Victoria Larson Hult and his infant daughter. Bob grew up in West Hartford, CT where he met and married his wife of 58 years, Alta Woodward Aldridge. He was a survivor of the 1944 Hartford circus fire. Somewhere in the marriage license there must have been a mention of loving cars because that was a passion that pervaded their entire married life. The first year they were married Bob brought home a Jaguar sports car. A few years later, they joined the Jaguar Club of So. New England and have been members for 45 years. Bob was president 5 times in 5 different decades. Alta has been and is the newsletter editor for almost 30 years. Sharing in this passion as they traveled to car shows on the east coast were their three children. Surviving Bob are sons, Jimmy (Barbara Fixer), Rob (Sabrina Shadeck), his granddaughter Grace, and his daughter Jennifer (James) Orioles. Bob is survived by his brother James (Joan Miller) of Florida and New Hampshire, their son, two daughters, their spouses and three grandchildren. Calling hours followed by the memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, Torrington. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
