JENSEN, Robert W. Robert W. Jensen, 81, of Avon, beloved husband of Eleanor (Bauer) Jensen, passed away Tuesday, (June 14, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by family. Born in Newington, January 31st, 1924, son of the late Peter K. and Hansine Jensen. Bob's summer garden was his love along with sharing stories from the past, fishing, swimming with his grandchildren and bowling. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he leaves three sons and two daughters, Kathleen Mckenzie and her husband Ron of Shrewsbury, MA, Robert W. Jensen Jr., and his wife Jane of Church Hill, MD, Donald F. Jensen and his wife Joan of Marlton, NJ, Gary P. Jensen and his wife Gail of Farmington and Cindy Schaller and her husband Rick of East Hampton; his two brothers, Arnold Jensen of Manchester, Clarence Jensen of Avon; and his sister Barbara Nelson of Salina, KS. Bob and Eleanor also have 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for the kindness and wonderful care to Avon Health Center. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 17, at 3 p.m. in Grace United Congregational Church, 110 South Rd., Farmington with the Rev. Terry Bascom officiating. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory can be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc.
