Robert Lathrop Obituary

LATHROP, Robert Douglas Robert Douglas Lathrop, 66, of Hartford, husband of Catherine (Nelson) Lathrop, passed away on Thursday, (April 24, 2008) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Robert was born in New Haven on June 12, 1941 to the late Daniel and Ella (Reid) Lathrop, Sr. Robert retired after 30 years as a technical illustrator with Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford. He was employed for 17 years by Rensselaer at Hartford's Security Dept. Robert is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Elizabeth Renee Nelson of West Hartford and Kimberly Lynn Cooper of Hartford; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a special grandson, Sidney Cooper, III; two god-daughters, Lisa Parker-Smith of Hartford and Dominique Unique Norell Nelson of Hartford; a brother, Daniel Lathrop, Jr. and his wife Pauline of Hamden; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Waterbury and Harriet Coleman of Lacey, WA. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a brother, William Lathrop; and a sister, Jean Gladding. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at the Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, officiated by Rev. Joseph A. Little.
