Hi Julie, I know today's your Dad's wake and it has not even been a month of my Mom's passing so I know exactly how you feel and the emotions you are going through. You never think your parents will ever pass on because you grow old along with them. He is not suffering and that is what matters most! Every sunshine, singing birds, rainbows, the stars and moon and everything that God created is there to remind us of our loved ones!!! God Bless and please know my thoughts are definitely with you!

Growing up in the neighborhood was the place to be, playing Tarzan in the "islands" in Ogden Brook, and the Melendy family was a big part of the sweet, golden memories.
Our prayers go out to the family on the passing of a great man.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time. Bob spoke of his lovely wife often. I will always remember Bob whistling a tune and his smiling face when he came into the office to pick up jobs. He always took the time to chat or tell a nice story.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a kind and generous man, and gave me my first real job, getting to travel all over New England with him summers and weekends. Our families were friends and neighbors. He was like a second father to me growing up and will be missed. I'd like to extend my sympathies to the entire Melendy family.

Dad, i am so sad, but i'm glad your free of your pain and suffering. You will be deeply missed, and i love you with all of my heart and soul forever, you will always be in my heart. You gave me life, and i enjoyed everything we did together, and everywhere we went. It hasn't sunk in yet that this is final, maybe it never has to be, i can keep your love, life & memory alive, to deal with this the best way i can. I'm glad i have a great amount of friends, and love, that can get me through this time of need. You loved life, & taught me valuable lessons in life, that have served me well, and for that i am grateful. You were the best dad there is, and, i couldn't be there in the end, it was to much for me. Mom, Gary & Terry are all dealing with this in there own way & time, i'm here for the family and extended family, if anyone needs help, or wants to talk, or for any reason just ask, thankyou so much for everything in my life Dad, i will always be that little girl, that was so precious to you, when i was daddy's little girl. Your loving daughter, Julie Melendy Thurston, your at peace now Dad, I love you very much.
