PULLEN, Robert "Bob" L.
Robert "Bob" L. Pullen, 59, of Bristol, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday (October 19, 2013) after a long illness. Born in Bristol, he was the son of Joyce Loomis (Schwab) Pullen and the late Paul LeRoy Pullen. Ever since he was a child, he was fascinated by trucks. Through the years, he became a self-taught skilled craftsman honing his skills into building miniature replicas to scale of all types of trucks to include fire trucks, dump trunks and pretty much anything that moved earth. This love of trucks carried into his professional life as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Tilcon. Not many people can say that they loved every day they went to work, but Bob truly did. Even after his illness prevented him from working that didn't stop him watching other construction sites with his brother Tom and just sharing their time together. He also had enjoyed his time as a volunteer firefighter in West Milford, NJ. When he wasn't focused on his truck collection, he liked to watch the Boston Celtics, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. His love of music was another dear passion for him and he enjoyed singing as a part of the Asbury United Methodist Church and as a part of the Bristol Choral Society. Barber shop music was a favorite for him as well. Spending time with his family was also a very important part of his life from riding bikes with his daughter Shannen to just sharing his infectious smile and his jokester ways that always made you laugh. He was a beautiful soul and will be so dearly missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. He leaves his loving mother Joyce, his children Shannen (Pullen) Champlin and her husband Tom of Bristol; Marci (Pullen) Paradis of Bristol; and Chad Pullen of Bristol; his grandchildren Talan, Cassidy Caitlyn and Allison; his siblings Constance (Pullen) Schulz of Victorville, CA; and Thomas Pullen, Sr. and his wife Mandy of Bristol; along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 90 Church Ave, Bristol. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church the morning of the service. Burial will follow the service at Forestville Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave, Forestville/Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bob's name to The Book of Remembrance at Asbury United Methodist Church. For online condolences, please visit www.obrien-funeralhome.com.

Dear Aunt Joyce, Connie and Tom,
I recently heard of Bobby's passing from my mother. Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your son and brother. I remember spending time with your family as a child at Aunt Joyce and Uncle Paul's house where we all played together as a family!
