Robin B. Feeney

Robin Bristol Feeney, 60, died on May 12, 2018 after a long illness.  Formerly of Coventry, CT, Robin and her husband moved to Hodges, SC after retirement.  She grew up in Orange, CT. After her first day of kindergarten she proclaimed that she wanted to be a teacher and she never changed her mind. An inspiring teacher, she spent most of her career in Bolton Public Schools teaching kindergarten, 1st grade, 7th and 8th grade science and in the enrichment program for gifted students. In college she learned muppetry, attending classes in New York City with Frank Oz. She sparked her students' imaginations using puppets she made, enlivening them with voices and personalities.  Robin gifted her love of reading to her students.  She attended the annual book fair at UConn, collecting autographed copies of children's books.  Every year she taught her class how to turn handwritten stories into homemade books.  In retirement she wrote her own stories derived from tales her mother told her about a little brown mouse named Ick.  Robin is survived by her husband Richard Feeney, her brother Alan Bristol, sister Laurel Friedmann, nieces, nephews and many friends.  A memorial service will be held ?on June 23, 2018 at 11:15 a.m.? in the chapel at the Orange Congregational Church, ?205 Meetinghouse Lane, Orange, CT.?  Donations in Robin's memory can be mailed to The Robin Feeney Fund ?c/o Liberty Bank, 90 Main Street?, Old Saybrook, CT 06475 or made in person at any Liberty Bank.  Collected funds will be used to establish and maintain a butterfly garden at Bolton Center School.
