Ronald Pitz Obituary

PITZ, Ronald H., Sr. Ronald H. Pitz, Sr., 70, passed away peacefully Friday, (October 29, 2004) at St. Joseph's Living Center in Windham. Rony was born on May 6, 1934 in Hartford, son of the late Edward Pitz and Doris (Darling) Pitz. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1952 where he played on the soccer team. Rony served in the United States Navy (Fighting Sea Bees Unit) from 1953-1957. He attended the University Of Connecticut Department Of Agriculture. He resided most of his life in Bloomfield before moving to Coventry in 1983. He was a member of the Bloomfield Game Club for many years. Rony was an avid skier and served on the ski patrol at Ski Sundown for several years. His favorite activites were gardening and "puttering" around the yard. He loved the outdoors and the many dogs, cats, and other animals that he had over the years. Rony retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 1990 after 35 years of service. Rony is survived by his loving and caring wife, Patricia (McCarthy) Pitz of Coventry, and their daughter and their "son," Monique and her husband Jack Polidoro of Coventry, and Richard M. Langley and his wife Maureen of Coventry. He is also survived by his loving children, Ronald H. Pitz, Jr. (Bucky) and his wife Janice Netz of South Windsor; Kathryn (Lisa) and her husband, Peter Lange of Windsor; and Andrew (Drew) Pitz of Bloomfield. In addition, he leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Benjamin Pitz, Ahern Pitz, Andrew (AJ) Pitz, Melissa Pitz, Caroline Lange, Michael Langley, Nicholas Lange, Jenna Polidoro, Vanessa Polidoro, and his special buddy, Mathew (Sparky) Langley. Rony is also survived by his sister, Nancy and her husband Steve Ridel of East Granby. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caring staff of St. Joseph's Living Center for their tenderness and care over the years. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Living Center's Pet Therapy Fund, 14 Club Road, Windham, CT 06280. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on TODAY, at St. Mary Church 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Coventry Cemetery.
