Roxanne CHUCK Obituary

CHUCK, Roxanne S. (Sposito) Roxanne S. (Sposito) Chuck, 78, of Vernon, beloved wife of Paul J. Chuck, Sr. passed away Thursday (January 27, 2011) at Woodlake of Tolland. Born on August 16, 1932, daughter of the late Julius P. and Virginia (Bonadies) Sposito she had lived in Vernon for over 50 years. Roxanne graduated from Bulkeley High School as an honor student. In 1953, Roxanne worked for the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Works. After raising her three children in Vernon she returned to work for the State of Connecticut, Services of the Blind, Connecticut State Library and Judicial Department and Public Works. She retired in 1992 as an assistant to the Administrator of Public Works. She was a volunteer at Rockville Hospital along with various PTA's through her children's school years. She was a caregiver at Sacred Heart Church. Roxanne was an avid fan of the Boy's and Girl's basketball teams at UConn. Walking, golfing, bowling and winters in Florida were her great pass times. She was loved by many for her willingness to listen, with one of her most endearing qualities being, she was never judgmental. She married Paul in 1953 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003. In addition to her husband, Paul she leaves her three children, Paul J. Chuck, Jr., and his wife, Sandra of Ellington, Stephen Chuck and his wife, Denise of South Windsor and Gini Pitruzzello and her husband, Robert of Manchester; three sisters, Angela Bordonaro and her husband, Paul "Bobo" of Windsor, Virginia Nolan and her husband, Bill of Nags Head, NC and Sister Virginia Mary Sposito, R.S.M. "Gloria" of Albany, NY; five grandchildren, Trisha Pesce and her husband, Robert, Nicole FitzGerald and her husband, John, Michael Pitruzzello and his wife Barbara and Jonathan Chuck and Christopher Chuck as well as two great grandchildren, Juliana Faith Pesce and Sophia Eva Pitruzzello. Her family sends their heartfelt thanks to Woodlake of Tolland and Helping Hands for the outstanding care of their Mom. Composed by Roxanne S. Chuck. Family and friends may gather Monday at 10 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Church, 550 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Vernon. Her family will receive friends, Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, South Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, 27 Allendale Dr., North Haven, CT 06473 or to Lewy Body Dementia Association 912 Killian Hill Road, SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
