Ruby Hamilton Obituary

HAMILTON, Ruby L. (Saylor) Ruby L. (Saylor) Hamilton, 68, of Windsor, beloved wife of 48 years to Matthew Hamilton passed away peacefully Wednesday (May 9, 2007) at St. Francis Hospital Hartford. Born on July 25, 1938 in North, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Alex and (Agnes) Idella (Livingston) Saylor and lived in Windsor since 1978. She was retired from Aetna after many years of faithful service. Ruby was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church Windsor and a longtime member of the Welcome Baptist Church Hartford. Besides her husband she leaves her daughters, Linda R. McCarter (James) of Woodbine GA, Karon Powell (Marshal) of East Hartford, and Sharon Small (Charles) of Windsor; two sons, Milton W. Hamilton (Evelyn) of Windsor and McArthur Hamilton (Sharon) of East Hartford; grandchildren, James McCarter of GA, Shamika Wright, Tamarsha Hamilton, Christian Powell, Aaron Powell, Devon Hamilton, Kristina Hamilton all of East Hartford, Samone McCarter and Latrice McCarter both of GA; two great-grandchildren, Davonte Hamilton and Bobby Wright Jr. both of East Hartford; a sister, Geraldine Schuler (Charles) of Hartford; a brother, John W. Saylor (Jeanie Mae) of Wilmington DE; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Irenner Mathis and Anniemae Dash, a grandson, De'Shawn M. Hamilton, and a great-grandson, Isaiah Michael Wright. Homegoing service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 12 Noon at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Windsor Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The Carmon Windsor Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
