Your father was my advisor in graduate school, and co-author with me , your mom and Dr. Tanaka of a book and several monographs. He was a funny, intelligent, and somewhat eccentric professor, but always kind and understanding. He was the perfect gentleman and scholar, and I will always remember him fondly. My prayers are with all of you.

I was so saddened by learning of the death of your dad. He and your mother were wonderful friends to Bob and helped him through some very difficult times.

I remeber January 31, 1971 when Ruven all decked out in a tuxedo was an usher at our wedding.

I am on vacation of Florida visiting relatives, otherwise I would speak to you in person to express my condolences.

The children of the Smiths were blessed with wonderful parents.

Love,

Gail Schor
