S. Ruven Smith

S. Ruven Smith, 82, of Storrs, husband of the late Trudy (Enzer) Smith, died Thursday, (April 3, 2003) at home. He was born August 25, 1920 in Hamilton, Ontario and had lived in Storrs for the past 42 years. He was a member of the faculty of the University of Connecticut and a research chemist at the Naval Weapons Center in China Lake, CA. He is survived by his six beloved children, Albert F. Smith of Ohio, Marsha Smith of New Jersey, Tanya Mummey of California, Jan Smith of Colorado, David Smith of Ashford, Aviva Ueno of Japan; and eight cherished grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Final care of remains will be private. There are no calling hours.
