Sarah B. Roth

Sarah Beth Roth, 89, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 9, 2023. She was born on March 18,1934, in Yonkers, NY to the late Charlie and Ruth (Gelber) Roth. Sarah moved to West Hartford, Connecticut in 1963 and subsequently lived in Simsbury, and Windsor before finally moving to Duncaster in Bloomfield in 2022. A beloved mother and grandmother, Sarah's life was a testament to love, dedication, and kindness. Sarah grew up in Yonkers, NY and graduated from Skidmore College in 1956. While in college, she assumed the nickname of "Ricki," which stuck well into her adult years. She went on to Colombia for graduate school and received a master's degree in early childhood education. Sarah taught 3rd grade at PS28 in Yonkers and remembered some of her students even in her last years. Sarah reinvented herself many times during her career. She had been a teacher and tried her hand at a few other jobs, and eventually worked a business she loved for the next 40 years, as a Shaklee Distributor. Sarah, or Grammy as she was called in her later years, leaves behind three children. Bob Roth (wife, Nikki Roth) of Virginia Beach Julianne Roth (husband, Frank Day) of Bloomfield, and Steven Roth (wife, Lori Roth) of New Hartford. She is predeceased by her brother, Joe Roth. Sarah's family was her greatest joy, and she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her legacy extended to her six cherished grandchildren: Alex Roth, Nicki Roth, Sam Steinberg, Charlie Steinberg, Emily Roth, and Jake Roth. She took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. Sarah had a love for gardening, tending to her vibrant flowers, and creating beautiful landscapes. She was an avid reader, Romcom fan, and enjoyed bowling and knitting. Sarah Roth's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the countless lives she touched. The family wishes to thank the staff at Duncaster for their help in making her final years comfortable. A private family celebration will be held to memorialize her life.
