I came home the other night to news that Sabu had passed away. I was immediately saddened because he was a larger than life character. I remember him growing up at my grandparent's house (Sonny and Lucy Miano) on Crest St. always making someone laugh. And of course, cruising around in his golf cart in Old Saybrook. My thoughts and prayers are with the Civitillo Family at this time.

I recently heard the passing of Sabu and want to share my thoughts & prayers with the Civitillo Family. Growing up as a child, visiting Sabu on Crest St. or the rides in his convertibles, and his famous line, "Where's Justin?!"; always brought a smile to my face. He will be dearly missed.

Hello Joanne,
I just read about Sabu and I am so sorry! I will remember him forever in my prayers. He was such a wonderful man. great to talk with and a sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him on selling the home on Crest Street. Missed you both after you moved to Saybrook.
May he rest in peace and God Bless you Joanne and keep you strong.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. Cornfield Point will never be the same without Sabu. We lost one of the last remaining beach icons. Whether he was zipping around on his mo-ped or driving around in the golf cart, Sabu was always around, observing and commenting. I'll miss his usual comment to me "Jamie, where's your brother, at the casino?" We all lost a great man. May your lifetime of wonderful memories help ease this sorrow.

Joanne, I was very saddened to hear of Sabus passing today. He was a wonderful Cornfield friend who was always concerned for, and showed interest in, his beach friends. The golf cart rides, sitting atop the beach talking to everone passing by, still getting ice cream from Daisy and many more memories that will forever live in our hearts. CFP has taken a tremendous hit this year; has lost two of its finest. May you continue to find strength.
sincerely, Ali Rowlson and Andy Veselak
