Shaun R. Krafthofer

Shaun R. Krafthofer, 34, of Newington, husband of Katherine "Kate" (Ziegler) Krafthofer, passed away Monday (September 28, 2015) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Chevely, MD, he was a former New Britain resident, moving to Newington in 2009. A graduate of Western New England University in Springfield, MA, with a degree in Sports Management, he received his MBA from the University of Hartford. Shaun was the Assistant Facilities Director for the University of Hartford Sports Center, where he worked for the past ten years. Besides his wife Kate, he leaves a son and two daughters, Aiden, Zoey and Madison Krafthofer, of Newington; his father, Charles Krafthofer and his wife Katherine of Silver Spring, MD; a brother, Justin Krafthofer also of Silver Spring, MD; father and mother-in-laws, Richard and Anne Ziegler of New Britain; a brother-in-law, Kevin Ziegler and his wife Cynthia of Newington along with their son John; several uncles and cousins, and a large extended family. Shaun was predeceased by his mother, Ann (Ritchie) Krafthofer. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10 AM at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain followed by a private burial. Calling hours will be held Friday 3 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain.
