1987 - 2019

Shawn Ryan McMahon, 32, of Plainville, Connecticut, beloved son of Lynn E. McMahon and beloved step-son of Allen A. Currier passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 13, 2019. Shawn was born February 5, 1987 in New Haven to Lynn and David McMahon. He grew up in Bristol and Burlington Connecticut, attended private high school in Maine graduating with honors. Shawn went on to attend SMCC, Portland Maine majoring in culinary arts. Shawn was an energetic, enthusiastic, hard working individual with a unique sense of humor, loyal and devoted to his friends and family. His passions included music, health and fitness, weight-lifting and hiking in nature. He was ecologically minded, a minimalist, concerned about the health of our planet. Shawn enjoyed working his craft in culinary arts and was a chef employed at the popular fine-dining establishment, The Pond House Café in West Hartford, Connecticut. He was well-liked and loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed. In addition to his parents and friends Shawn is survived by his aunt Dale and David Johnson of Farmington, Connecticut, his uncle Alan Hadfield of Bristol, Connecticut, his father David McMahon and several aunts, uncles and cousins of the McMahon family from Meriden/Wallingford, Connecticut. A "Celebration of Shawn's Life" will be held Monday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm at the Taprock Beer Bar & Refuge Restaurant, 81South Main Street, Unionville, CT 06085.
