Shirley Schienman Obituary
Shirley Fergason Schienman, 86, of Avon, died peacefully on August 7, 2017. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, full of grace, and always thinking of others. She was very creative, a stained glass artist, and a wonderful cook. She loved to play Bridge with her son and friends, go to the movies, and out for sushi lunch. She is predeceased by her husband Edmund, and was able to say goodbye to her family: children, Karen Suponski, Susan Galvin, Wendy Miller, John Schienman, and their spouses; grandchildren and spouses, Sarah, Shane, Ian, Katie, Garrett, Jonah, Emily, and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Elias, Ava, Sofia, Elliot, Boden, Mava, Joseph, and Gabriel. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00-11:00am followed by Funeral Services in the funeral home at 11:00am. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors in celebration of the brightness of Shirley's life. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.ahernfuneralhome.com.

SHIRLEY'S PASSING EXTINGUISHES A BRIGHT LIGHT FROM ALL OUR MANY LIVES. SHE WAS A KIND AND GENTLE SOUL. I HAVE KNOWN SHIRLEY SINCE 1989 WHEN I MOVED INTO A HOUSE RIGHT UP ST. ANSWERS DRIVE FROM ED AND SHIRLEY. WE HAD SO MANY GOOD YEARS TOGETHER. WE TRAVELED TOGETHER, PLAYED BRIDGE AND SPENT MANY A DAY GOING TO MOVIES, TRYING NEW RESTAURANTS - WHATEVER WAS ON THE AGENDA FOR THAT DAY. I SEND SHIRLEY'S FAMILY MY DEEPEST AND SINCEREST CONDOLENCES FOR THEIR LOSS AND AM THANKFUL I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY GOOD-BY AND TELL SHIRLEY I LOVED HER. A GIFT, INDEED.
