CHICKOSKY, Sophie K. Sophie Katherine (Warchol) Chickosky, 90 of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Friday (Oct. 7, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford. She was the widow of Alexander A. Chickosky. Sophie was born on March 13, 1915 in the Willimansett section of Chicopee Falls, MA, daughter of the late Adam and Katarczyna (Kopec) Warchol, she had resided in Enfield most of her life. Sophie assisted her husband Alexander as self employed tobacco growers for many years on the Chickosky Farm, Enfield. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her life was her family and she was like a mother to them all. She loved gardening and cooking and was a great seamstress. A devote Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Martha's Church. Sophie will be deeply missed by her family; daughter, June Caouette and husband, Zephirin of Glastonbury; son, Kenneth Chickosky and wife, Maurine of Enfield, and daughter, Jane Oswecki and husband, Vincent of Windsor; her eight grandchildren; Michele Grant and husband, Michael of NY, Paul Caouette of Glastonbury, Carolanne Majeski and husband, Steve of Vermont, Cindy Miller and husband, Steve of Florida, Alexander Chickosky and wife, Jennifer of Alabama, Diana Chickosky of Enfield, Catherine Oswecki of Bloomfield and Elizabeth Oswecki of New York, and five great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Warchol. Sophie's family will receive relatives and friends on Tues. Oct. 11, from 7-9 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Funeral services in celebration of Sophie's life will be held on Wed. Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Martha's School, 214 Brainard Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. My deepest sympathy to Ken, Maurine and the entire Chickosky family. Sophie will be remembered for her kindness to others, and the contribution and sacrifice's she made in her lifetime. Another Angel in heaven sitting next to the mother's that have also passed, who once belonged to those of us who still remain.
