Stanley Kozak Obituary

After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved Stanley E Kozak Jr., 80, of Rocky Hill, left this earth on Tuesday October 29, 2019. Stan was the loving husband of Esther (Derlaga) Kozak for 51 years. He will be remembered for his many passions, skills and enjoying the everyday. He had a love for sweets, sports, spending time with his grandchildren and dancing, so light on his feet. Exhibiting a strong, quiet confidence, he made a lasting impression, especially with his memorable handshake. Whether we knew him as Stan, Stash, Uncle, Dziadzi or Dad his love and steadfast loyalty to his family and friends will be cherished by all. Stan retired from Chandler Evans after 30+ years, was a member of the American Legion, a loyal parishioner at St. Elizabeth Seton and for the past 25 years, was an active Hartford County 4-H Camp Board of Trustees member. His compassion, strength, charisma and support will be greatly missed. Stan is predeceased by his son Karl Kozak and sister Janice Mancino. He is survived by his wife Esther, his daughter Kyra Woods, grandchildren Chelsea and Jacob Woods, niece Rebecca Yankowitz, siblings Joseph Kozak, Barbara May, Patricia Brady, Mary Jane Kozak, sister-in-law Carolyn Yankowitz as well as numerous family members and friends. His funeral service will begin on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, at 8:30 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Rocky Hill. He will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, Nov. 1st, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
