Stephen Bruno Obituary

Stephen J. Bruno, 75, departed this life August 27, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Sophie Bruno. Stephen was born October 17, 1946 in New Britain, one of two sons of the late Salvatore and Constance Bruno. He was a longtime resident of Plainville. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Quinnipiac University and Masters Degree from the University of New Haven. He had a long career in the health care industry. He worked at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and his last position was Chief Operating Officer at Prime Health Care. His hobbies included bike riding, walking, golf and exercising; however, his biggest passion was spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Stephen is survived by his sons: Stephen Bruno (wife Stephanie) and Robert Bruno (wife Nancy); his grandchildren: Stephen Bruno, Alexandra Tomaszewsky (husband Boris), Michael Bruno, Rachel Bruno and Erica Bruno; and his brother Dennis Bruno (wife Susan); as well many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David Bruno. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of one's choice. The Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville has been entrusted with arrangements. My condolences to the Bruno family. Steve and I worked together at Saint Francis Hospital in Respiratory Care for many memorable years. I have fond memories of that time and will always remember the professionalism he displayed during many situations. Steve was a class act and will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.
