In memory of Steven Merrill
Stevie as I knew you. Others knew you as "The Fence Man"
Everything happened so fast, it's difficult to understand and process things. There are no words to express the loss we feel.
You are now in gods hands and at peace without pain looking down on us, even though you had much more life to live.
You were so young!
I remember your very young years when you were at special occasions with all the other cousins. You were an easy going and care free kid, just like you lived your life.
You will be missed, but never fotgotten. May peace be with you forever.
Love, Aunt Sandee

Joanne & Karen,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and may god give you the strength to get through this very difficult time.
Not a day goes by since the accident that I don't think of Stevie, it just breaks my heart that he left us so soon.

In Memory of Steven Merrill
With tearful eyes we heard the news,
That you had passed away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We couldn't make you stay.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered. "Come to me"
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
Steve "The Fence Man"

A Last Goodbye
Dont cry for me, for I am free
Free to skip across the sea
Free to ride the waves
I feel the wind at my back
The sun on my face
I see the stars up above
And the moon shinning the way
At last, I am going home
My friends and family, on the other side, wait for me
I feel no pain, I am at peace
I am not sad, for I am glad
My spirit is set free
I'm looking down from above
At last, I have come home
When you think of me, I'll be nearby
I'm that sparkle in the sky
I just want to say goodbye
Don't cry, I'm finally free
Please, remember me

Steve was taken much too soon from us. I will always have a special place for him in my heart and will never forget him. I remember the early years when Steve and Jeff grew up togeather. They both enjoyed the same things and were alike in many ways. Two peas in a pod.
Peace Be With You.

I was very much saddened when I read of Steven's accident and death in today's Hartford Courant. I remember Steven from when I was his teacher in Middlefield. My sympathies to the family.
