Steven Park Obituary

PARK, Steven D. Steven Drew Park, 58, of West Hartford, passed from this life Sunday (January 20, 2008). Raised in Cohasset, MA, he moved to the Hartford area after graduating from Drew University. He had an interesting and varied life. Starting out in the insurance field as director of marketing, then in real estate as branch manager, director of new construction and then establishing his own real estate company. Steven is survived by his two sons, Michael and Alexander, their mother Anya, sister Victoria, brother William and his mother Christine. His true love was civic involvement; he was President of the West End Civic Association of Hartford. He believed in the City of Hartford, working for its betterment by serving on the City Council, spearheading the revitalization and reconstruction of the Municipal Government of Hartford. Steven's strength lay in bringing people together, helping to solve their problems, and always sensing those that needed compassion. The Service of Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 26 at 12 Noon in the Meetinghouse of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 75 Main St., Farmington with the Rev. Dr. Ned W. Edwards Jr., officiating. Donations may be made to The Open Hearth, P.O. Box 1077, Hartford, CT 06143. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc.

Steve, you were my best friend when I moved to Cohasset. We had great times riding our bikes, fishing in Lily Pond and walking to J,J.s for ice cream. I've been missing you for a lifetime.

Words can not express the loss we feel for our friend. He touched so many - and the world is not the same without him. And to Steve, "I love you, man"
