Sumner SEWALL

SEWALL, Sumner Sumner "Sonny" Sewall, 62, of Rockville, husband of 39 years to Carol (West) Sewall, passed away peacefully on Friday, (April 2, 2010) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Carmel, Maine on January 19, 1948, son of the late Charles and Winnie (Maloon) Sewall, he has lived in Vernon for 35 years. Prior to his retirement in 2009, Sonny was employed by Phillips Auto Repair in Tolland for over 30 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Sumner "Bucky" Sewall, Jr. of Rockville, Avery Sewall of Tolland and Tabitha McLean and her husband Brian of Ellington; nine grandchildren, Sumner III, Shawn, Mindy, Harley, Alex, Jordan, Brittney, Bridget and Brianne; a great-grandson; two brothers, David Boyle and his wife Martha of Rockville, Bubba Sewall and his wife Wendy of Stetson, ME; four sisters, Betty Zamsky and her husband Arthur of Stafford Springs, Violet Davis and Bernadine Flood of Newburgh, ME and Beatrice Smith of Lewiston, ME; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Lois West of Tolland; his sisters-in-law, Paula Mitterholzer and her husband Leo of Manchester, Jo-Ann Beaudry and her husband Joseph of Vernon and Linda Wagner and her husband Karl of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews who loved his dearly. His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 5–7 PM at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a memorial service beginning at 7 PM. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
