Susan MURPHY Obituary

MURPHY, Susan Susan Bergsten Canfield Rock Murphypassed away today after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. During her 55 years she has been many things daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother along with being a friend and confidant to many. Any friends she had instantly became family to her. She worked over 20 years for the state of Connecticut in DDS, a tough job which she loved. She loved reading, gardening, designing home plans and gardenscapes, and mostly spending time with her grandson. Susan was predeceased by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles and the love of her life Davey Sarty. She is survived by her children Elisabeth Canfield McGuckin and her husband Bryan of Cleveland, OH, Michael Rock of Putnam, Rebecca Theriaque and James, and the LIGHT OF HER LIFE, her grandson LJ (James Robert) Theriaque also of Putnam. She leaves her parents Robert and Gerri Bergsten of Richlands NC, Her siblings Victor (Anne) Bergsten of Bolton, Robert (Beth) Bergsten of Andover, Deborah (Art) Jones of New Britain, Nita (John) Ball of Las Vegas NV, her nieces and nephews Alisa, Amanda, Andrew, Daniel, Christopher & Christina along with her great niece and nephew Jonah and Areannah and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held 6 pm March 26 at St Philips Episcopal Church, 63 Grove St. Putnam Ct. In lieu of flowers donations to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Connecticut would be welcome.
