Gosh! I haven't seen Susan in many years but was shocked to read of her passing. I remember her best as the 11/12 year old girl who lived next door to my mom and me in the apartments on Woodbridge St. She was very sweet to me and I thought of her as my big sister during that time. Even though she was four years older, she made me feel like I was a friend, and included me in many of her plans. I remember fondly a Holloween Party that one of her girlfriends had. She invited me to come along and we played hide and seek in the dark basement. I was afraid in the dark but as long as Susan was there too, it was okay. I remember the pink lipstick she sometimes wore and the little chastity braids she and her girlfriends had in the long hair around their faces. She loved pop music (we played "Dizzy" and "Downtown" on the record player till we drove my mom crazy!)and games like Simon Says and we danced and sang whenever we could. I think she had a bit of a crush on my cousin Chris, who was her age and in her class at Bowers School. She made up nicknames for folks and always called me Janny, which annoyed me and pleased me at the same time. I was heartbroken when the family moved out of the apartment complex to the new house in Glastonbury. I missed Susan and her mom and dad (Marge and Stav) and her little brother Eddie more than they knew. Thank you all for being my subsitute family for a short time.
