Sylvia Anne Bean

Sylvia Anne (Waichen) Bean, 96, of Vernon, wife of the late Robert Bean, died on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Rockville Hospital. She was born on January 27, 1919 in Manchester, CT, daughter of the late Victor and Anna (maiden name) Waichen. She grew up in Manchester and moved to Vernon in 1937. Sylvia loved to paint, collect Antiques and travel. She had the opportunity to travel to Europe and take several cruises. A kind, caring and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend she will be greatly missed. She leaves her son, Richard Songailo and his wife Constance of Stafford Springs; her daughter, Sharon Clark of Windsor; her grandchildren, Lorna Clark of Enfield and Heather Wanziak and her husband John of Tolland and her great grandson, Lucas. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Songailo and Robert Bean; her son, Edward Robert Songailo; her sister, Helen Rogow and brother, Joseph Waichen. Funeral Services were private at the request of her family. Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon has care of the arrangements.
