Thomas H. Donlon

1936 - 2021

Thomas H. Donlon, best friend and husband of Sara L. Donlon, passed away comfortably in his Florida home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 19th, 2021. Born in Manchester on January 17th, 1936 to Harold and Mary Donlon, he attended local Catholic schools, graduating Holy Trinity H.S. in 1954. He then joined the USAF and served in Korea. Upon his return he attended UConn, received his bachelor's degree in education, and taught English at Manchester High School for 22 years. But his true passion was serving his country in the army reserve as a drill sergeant and educator for 20 years. Tom is survived by his wife Sara and their two children, Erin Donlon Chacon (Will) and Thomas W. Donlon. He is also survived by his daughters Debra Donlon-Achilli (Rick), Cheryl Barber (Tom), and Colleen Combs (Steve), their mother Carol Donlon, his sister Patricia LaFleur, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. There will be no calling hours, final arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
