Dad,
It's been a year already since you've been gone. We think and speak of you often. All your children and granchildren would make you proud these days as we all turn to each other when needed and keep in touch any way we can. Troy and Thomas (III) have really stepped up and talk to their nieces on facebook. Of course, Mike and I are right there with them. Gianna, Alyssa & Gabby still haven't forgotten you and have pictures and memories of you close by. Everyone in the family received a charm with your picture in it during your memorial. The picture came from the one in your house with Mike, Tommy & Chris because you could see the happiness in your face. Mine hangs on my rear view mirror along with Rick's dad. I touch them often as I'm thinking of you so if you feel a hug or kiss, it may be me!! I love and miss you every moment...

In Loving Memory of Tom, one year anniversary, Feb. 11, 2009 - Feb. 11, 2010
My Dearest Tom,
No one heard the footsteps of the angel drawing near, he took you from Earth to Heaven, the one we love so dear.
Tom, I think of you all the time and cherish all the wonderful memories of us. Especially, how we reminisced about the magical first three days of our meeting! And, how we laughed and shared our plans for future trips and the memories of the past trips, dinners together and shopping and casino trips. You'll always be in my heart. Forever yours, Love, Barbara

Dad,just wanted to let you know on October 10, 2009, we had a service in your honor. Tommy and the kids came up from Florida and Troy from Washington. Mike gave an incredible emotional speech that spoke of how meaningful your relationship was with him at the end. He has a nice spot on his property that will always belong to you with a beautiful granite bench, flowers and he even found a string of carved wooden fish!! Fenway is healthy and happy, but misses you for sure. During the speech, Mike told all of us that you would get sick all over again just to have your family back. Well we're doing what we promised you. We carried out your wishes, had a meal from Anglellino's in your honor and spent the day together. I have Nana's candle and promise to light it each year on the day she passed. We're all still struggling hard with losing you, but having each other has helped a lot and we know how proud you'd be. Love and miss ya.

Your one of the greatest, one that I'll never forget. I started to look at pictures and letters from you on Valentine’s Day and saw I had wrote on one of the pictures “my loving grandpa” You were always loving to everyone around. So full of life. I must say that I am so proud of him and the man he was. I know that everyone is hurting right now. We all need to have peace within in our selves knowing that he is now all by our sides. I’m so proud that his birthday was on the greatest day that describes him the most, Valentine’s Day. I hope that we can come together and love each more. I know Grandpa would want us to stick together and enjoy life together more as stronger LaPointes. I miss you and will never forget you Grandpa. I will try everyday of life to be as positive and fun loving person as you were to me. I can't wait for the day when we can talk again. I will miss our phones calls about our crazy pups or chats about the red socks. I love watching them play because of you and I will miss talking to you during the games. I will always think of you whenever I eat cranberry sauce. I told you I didn't like it but I never even tried it. You made me eat it. Which is now my favorite and a must have on Thanksgiving. Life is always about trying something new and taking that risk. You taught me that.
From the time I was a little girl I will always remember the time when you got me cabbage patch doll with the stroller and you took me on a long walk and now that I'm older seeing you in New Port for the first time in years was one of the happiest day of my life. That was a moment that took my breath away. I will always remember the incredible bond we had since I was a little girl until now. You loved me for who I am. You always made it a point to tell me how beautiful I am even in the middle of conversations. This is what you use to say to me “God your so beautiful" When I write that or think of it I can remember how you use to say it to me. So sincere and loving. I now appreciate it so much more. Your love and legacy was a beautiful thing that will be deeply missed. These memories I will hold dear in my heart. You were an amazing man to me who showed me unconditional love that I still can feel. You were a good man that was well respect by all. I will always keep your words of wisdom and your positive outlooks on life with me throughout of my day. You have changed my life in so many way……………"Let it Be"……………. I love you Grandpa. I feel so bad for all of you. Barbara I know you were very special in Tom's life. He spoke of you often. Tom and I were like brother and sister, we love each other very much and I am going to miss his phone calls. As for all of the children I know your dad love you all very much even in the rough times. he always spoke of all of you to me. I was up to see dad @ the hospital before his surgery. He will always be a special part of my life. I always call him on his birthday and sang to him, I figure I could still sing to him cause I know he hears me from where ever he may be. May all you kids stick close to each other and help each other out. May you all stay strong and take one day at a time.

Dear Tuck, we'll miss your phone calls regarding our warm weather, gas prices and the Red Sox.
Charlie and I went to the cemetary before we came home to Georgia and told Mom and Dad you were on your way. Give them hugs for us and remember we all loved you.

Uncle Tucker, you have always had a special place in my heart. I miss you so much and the weekends will never be the same without your unexpected but always welcome visits. Thank you for always accepting me for who I am (despite all the sarcasm!), and being there for every important event. I love you so much and promise never to forget the jokes, desserts, dogs and most of all, Uncle Tucker hugs. Rest peacefully, you showed us what true strength is and I only hope to be as amazing a person to someone as you were to me and our family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

RIP grandpa. We shared many fun times growing up, im really going to miss him a lot. Just like a lot of us i was planning on really trying to be there more and hang out with him more after he got out of the hospital and it really hurts that we wont get that chance. I wanna thank my Dad and uncles and aunt for being by his side in the last few months i know that meant a lot to him. One story i will never forget is " grandpa went to the gas station and left his keys in his car while he went in to pay and someone was attempting to steal his car when he got out, he ran and hung onto the door/window as the guy dragged grandpa 100 yds or so, the road rash was horrible but i always thought of him as a hero after that, and a damn tough guy. when i was younger i spent many weekends with him his g/f or wife at the time just hanging out watching movies or goin to see nana. I LOVE YOU so much grandpa and i will miss you.

Tom - What a shock it was to hear of your passing. We'll miss the way you used to come across the street and yell in the door, "HEY - anybody home?" We'll miss your banana bread and your big laugh, your love for your dogs and your obvious pride in and love for your family. You brought life and laughter to our neighborhood. Our heartfelt sympathies to the family. Rest in peace, Tom. See you later.

I have such fond thoughts of "Tucker". His funny sense of humor and belly laugh. I will always remember him on special holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc., spent at Andrea and Chucks house. He always came in with alot of spirit and baked goods. Sometimes even his dog came along. Barbara you are a sweet woman and I'm sure Tucker knows how much you cared for him. You, Andrea & Chuck were always by his side in the good times and bad. I am so glad I knew him and wish him peace.

I was so heartbroken when my grandfather passed away. I had been with him the whole way. I used to go to the hospital evey chance that i got. I didn't know my grandfather that well. He was going to get to know me and my twin sisters when he got out of the hospital. I am not happy that he passed away but i am happy that he does not have to suffer any more. Even though i didn't know him that well i still cared for him.

Dad, Thank you for the last four months we had together. We had some difficult times, but I was so proud to be there for you in so many ways and I know how much it meant to you that your daughter and sons were with you fighting right up until the end. You can be at peace now knowing your children came together at such a difficult time and we promise to continue to be a family. It is now that I learn blood is thicker than water and also there are many things you cannot change in life. Gianna, Gabby & Alyssa will miss you and the times we could have had, but I will keep your memory alive. As I said to you many times when I was younger, I love you more than the whole wide world - I love you Dad - Please send my love to Nana and Bamp oxoxoxoxox
