Thomas B. Sharpe

Thomas B. Sharpe, 98, beloved husband for 68 years to the late Ruth (Bannon) Sharpe died, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Florida. He was born in Homeville, PA son of the late John and Agnes (Naughton) Sharpe. He was a former resident of Wethersfield and summered at Cedar Island in Clinton. Prior to his retirement in 1982, Thomas was the manager of accounting services at Hamilton Standard, a division of United Technologies for 44 years. He was a former President of the Hamilton Standard Credit Union, a former president of Cedar Island Assoc., Clinton, a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, and a past member of Bourne Keeney American Legion Post 23. He and his wife Ruth were avid ballroom and square dancers and they traveled extensively. He is survived by three daughters, Gayle Bates of Weymouth, MA., Jeannine Adam, and Marilyn Sharpe, both of Stuart, FL; a son, Thomas Sharpe, of Wethersfield; a sister, Dorothymae Jacobs; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Gayle Bost, Agnes Cloherty, Stella Margie Cregan, and a grandson, Thomas Fersch. A graveside service with full military honors will be held December 4, 2015, 1:30 PM at the Village Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT.
