Victor M. Heumann Jr.

1940 - 2022

Victor M. Heumann Jr., 82, of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Alicia (Sammon) Heumann died peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital. Victor was born in Washington D.C. on January 10, 1940, son of the late Victor M. and Helen (Loska) Heumann. He grew up in Washington D.C. and served our country with the U.S. Army. Victor lived in East Hartford for a brief time, before moving to South Windsor 55 years ago. He worked in accounting and retired in 2010. He was a graduate of the University of Hartford in 1981, where he was honored to be a part of the Dean's List. Victor enjoyed model railroading, building model airplanes, boats and cars, jigsaw puzzles and was an avid gardener. He grew vegetables and always said "if you can't eat it don't grow it." He also enjoyed camping, fishing, photography, and long walks. He leaves his children, Steven Heumann and his wife Kim of Broad Brook, and Patricia Heumann of Vernon; his sister, Katherine Stupelman and her husband Charles of Ocala, FL; and his grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Tyler, and Alexandria. His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook.
