Victor Puzzo Obituary

Victor S. Puzzo, 54, of Newington, husband of Pauline Lebel, passed from this world Sunday, (January 19, 2003) at home. He was the son of the late Orlando and Lois Puzzo. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Somer, Joshua and Alyssa Puzzo; a brother, Steven Puzzo and his wife, Susan of Rocky Hill; and his sisters, JoAnn Puzzo of East Hartford, Julie Puzzo of Rocky Hill and Gina Pressamarita and her husband, Alan of East Hartford. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Steven Saunders, Ellen Puzzo, Steven Puzzo, Alessio Pressamarita, Sarah Pressamarita and Joseph Pressamarita; his great niece, Emma Puzzo and his great nephews, Nicholas and Mark Saunders. Besides being the godfather to two of his nephews, he was godfather to Tim Giles. Victor was a dedicated husband and father who cherished his wife and children and the greatest gift he leaves behind is the love, laughter and compassion he gave them, that they will pass on through many generations. Victor worked for the Department of Mental Retardation for over 27 years and was loved by his clients and co-workers. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. His contributions for the last 27 years in the Department of Mental Retardation brought much comfort and joy to all he served. Victor often said that if you have one good friend when you die, then you are a blessed man. Victor leaves behind many, many friends and those who count themselves as his friends, feel themselves blessed as well. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January 23, 10 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Church St., Newington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are TODAY, Jan. 22, 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to go directly to church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 538 Preston St., P.O. Box 1004 Meriden, CT 06450.

To Pauline and everyone,

There are times when it is difficult to find words. Fortunately, Gina captured what was on everyone's mind with love, humor and grace. While I don't know all who were so close to Vic,it is so true that he had many friends. Another truth was the declaration that there was no one that the speaker knew that didn't like Vic. I didn't know anyone who didn't like him either. My prayers are with you.

Uncle Vic was just fun, there was no stopping him. He'd be one of the kids. When we went to the beach, he was normally one of the first in the water. Uncle Vic would always go boogy boarding....but backwards.

The beach will never be the same.

Love,

Chris

Although I didn't know Vic as well as some, I occupy the "cubby" where he used to sit, here in our office, and I can feel his spirit watching over me.

Hi Pauline,

Carol sent me the link to Vic's obituary. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and send you my most sincere condolences.

It's been forever since we've seen each other (maybe Carol's wedding!), but I remember you so well. I think you were actually pregnant then, and I hear Aly is a teenager now.

I hope that you both find peace in Vic's release from pain. My thoughts are with you and your families.

Take care,

Sue

My uncle was a loving man whose lessons in love and compassion I will hold dear to my heart forever. He was young but lived a full life. He was always the one with the jokes and he loved to make them. My fondest memory is the way his face lit up when he saw my daughter. His love for her has kept me strong. I love you Uncle Vic and know that your always there.
