Vincent "Jimmy" L. Cusano, 89, loving husband of Kathlyn McCarthy Cusano of Hamden passed away Wednesday, (Dec. 31, 2003) in the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was born in New Haven, Dec. 13, 1914, a son of the late John M. and Margherita Nunziante Cusano and had lived in Hamden since 1951. He was owner of Community Laundry of New Haven for 40 years and also was manager of the Choate School Laundry and he later worked for the Webster Bank of New Haven. Mr. Cusano was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, John Barry Council of New Haven and the B.P.O.E. #2224 of Hamden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mary Ellen "Cookie" and her husband, Michael Peterson of North Haven, Jayne Barese and Philip Manciero of Hamden, Marion and her husband, Ralph Nettleton of Ohio, Bunny Barbara and her husband, George Longyear of Hamden, Vincent Cusano and Mary Blecich of East Haven, Robert and his wife, Joanne Cusano of Cheshire; nine grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Peterson, Ralph, Ashlynn and Shawn Nettleton, Brian and George Longyear, Nicholas and Gianna Cusano; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsi Nettleton. Brother of Nicholas Cusano, Louis "Gigi" Cusano, Rose DeRosa, Ernest Cusano, Margaret "Yolanda" Zorzanella, and Dorothy Onofrio. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cusano was predeceased by two sisters, Prudence Caso and Mary Petraiuolo and a brother, John Cusano. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call Friday (TODAY) from 4 -8 p.m. Burial in Centerville Cemetery.
