Vincenzo Cocolla

Vincenzo Cocolla, 87, of Hallandale Beach, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Tata) Cocolla. Born in Canicattini Bagni, Italy, son of the late Paul and Carmela (Buccheri) Cocolla, he came to America 50 years ago and lived in Hartford prior to moving to Florida 25 years ago. Vincenzo was a proud member of the Italian Military Police, Legione Territoriale Dei Carabinieri. He came to America with a limited education and not knowing English, but he quickly learned and took pride in the knowledge he gained through his employment. He enjoyed Italian crossword puzzles and the times he was able to spend with his family. A loving father and grandfather, he leaves his son Antonio Cocolla and his wife Morena of Newington, Carmelina Chiarizio and her husband John of Berlin, his three grandchildren, Vincent Cocolla and his wife Danielle, Alexander Cocolla and his wife Heather, and John Chiarizio and a great grandson on the way. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington.
