Walter Card Obituary

Walter D. Card, Jr. of Old Kiln Rd., North Haven, husband of Dorothy Hamerski Card and father of Mary Elizabeth Card of Alexandria, VA, died suddenly in St. Raphael's Hospital, Saturday (September 1, 2001). Mr. Card was born in New Haven, December 8, 1934, son of the late Walter and Nellie Baker Card. He was, before his retirement, an engineer for the Southern New England Telephone Co. where he had served for 39 years. He was also a certified financial consultant in the New Haven area for many years and treasurer of the Connecticut Union of Telephone Workers. He was a graduate of the University of New Haven and a member of the board of directors of St. Stephen School of Hamden. He was a member of Who's Who in the business and financial world. Funeral from Sisk Brother's Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning, 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barnabas Church, 10 a.m. Friends may call TODAY, 5 -8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 25 Cold Spring St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
