Walter Sampson Obituary

Walter C. Sampson, 74, of Hartford, passed away January 22, 2021 in Apple Rehab of Middletown. He was born in Hartford, son of the late George I. and Frances (Dettenborn) Sampson. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. Walter was a Tool and Die Operator, first with Colt Firearms and later with Wiremold, retiring in 2015. He enjoyed going to the Outer Banks with friends and spending time with family in Westbrook. Walter most loved sitting under the tree with family and friends telling stories and jokes. He leaves his son Christopher Sampson and his wife Dawn of Manchester, his brother George Sampson and his wife Carol of Wethersfield, his sisters, Priscilla Sampson of Hartford, Arlene Belcher of East Hartford, Joan Gilligan and her husband Edward of Wethersfield and Lois DeAngelis and her husband Dennis of Glastonbury. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Nancy Sampson of Westbrook and many nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his brothers, John and his wife Gail, David, Richard and his wife Cynthia and his brother-in-law Ernest Belcher. Services will be private.
