I would like to offer my sincere sympathies to Bill's wife and family.
He was one of the nicest people that I had the pleasure of knowing while dealing with him on a business level and than as a friend. He was always interested and caring about what was happening in your life. I got to know his family thru the pictures that he shared with me. He will be truly missed.

The Summer of 1985. I was stationed with a Navy Air squadron near Jacksonville Beach.
Bill called one day and said he wanted to take time off from school. He came here for about 4-5 months. We turned into 21 year old weekend beach goers.
No matter how late a Friday or Saturday night was, he got me up at 8am for the drive to the beach. His motivation was, "You can sleep on the beach!"
We'd stay on the sands of Anastasia Beach from 8-6pm... constantly in and out of the water with friends. It remains my best beach summer experience.
I retired as an Analyst from the U.S. Dept of State two years ago and now reside near the very beach Bill and I would go to whenever I had a day off and we could make the drive. They no longer allow cars to drive on the beach.
It's just not the same, and I'm so very grateful for Bill's excursion to Jacksonville in 1985 that led both to have experiences that, for this man, have been beside me all along and positively added to the reasons I returned to these beaches 25 years later.
My sincerest regard for Pam, Paige, and Allison, Simone and Bill (Who threw me in the back of the family sedan at the age of 12 for what was to be my only Red Sox game in my life. Thank you very much for that!)

Dear Calhoun Family,
My heart was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I met Bill in '95 at the health club. He always had a warm and welcoming smile. He had an optimistic and intelligent view on any topic. Bill was so happy to be a husband and a father. His eyes would sparkle when he told stories of his family. Bill was a rare and special person. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May God's love comfort you during this difficult time.

My family and I have known Billy and his family for over 40 years. We grew up next door to each other since I was 2 years old and I always considered him a big brother. Although we all grew up and moved away, I have always thought of him and his family as my family. He was one of the sweetest of the Calhoun Clan and although I never was able to get close to Jesse or their children I am sure that they are all just as sweet as Billy and I send my deepest condolences to them as well as Simone and Bill, Paige, Pammy, Al & Rick. Words cannot express and nothing can dull the agony you are all in, but please know that your friends/family especially those of us down in Florida are sending their thoughts and prayers to all of you. With Sympathy and Love, Tracy & Jimmy
