CASTNER, William Sr. William Castner Sr., 81, husband of Lorna Taylor Castner of Branford died Thursday, (March 23, 2006). Father of Peggy (Joseph) Romano of Toms River, NJ, Peppy Castner Hatch of Bayville, NJ, and Billy (Debra) Castner of Lacey Township, NJ. Grandfather of Rollie and Angeline Hatch, Kimberly and Jeffrey Castner and Justin Romano. Brother of the late Harry Castner, Carrie and Arthur Wilmot. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Cappuccino Castner. Bill was an iron worker with Union Local 405 of Philadelphia. He also worked for the former G & H Steel Co. and currently was the owner of Jeannie Erectors, Inc. the past 23 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. Friends may call at the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven, TODAY from 3-7 p.m. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society. Calling hours will also be held at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Ocean City Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.

I MET YOU ONE TIME WHEN YOUR BROTHER HARRY PASSED AWAY,HE WAS MY GRANDFATHER.I REMEMBER THAT I WANTED TO COME TALK TO YOU BUT I WAS AFRAID TO UNTIL MY DAD(HARRY)TOLD ME THAT YOU WOULDN'T BITE ME IF I CAME OVER TO YOU.I FINALLY WORKED ENOUGH NERVE UP TO COME OVER TO YOU,AND THE FIRST THING I SAID TO YOU WAS YOU REALLY LOOK LIKE MY POP.IT WAS WEIRD TO KNOW THAT WE JUST LAID MY POP TO REST BUT TO SEE A MAN THAT LOOKED SO MUCH LIKE HIM JUST BLEW MY MIND!!
