William Finnance Obituary



William George Finnance Jr., 61, of New London, CT. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 from heart failure. Born March 16th, 1953 in Raleigh, NC, he was the son of William G. Finnance Sr. and Helen (Bondos) Finnance. William graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden, CT, and later from The University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 1977. He worked as a pharmacist at St. Francis Hospital before becoming a member of the staff at the UCONN Health Center in Farmington, CT. where he took particular pride in teaching residents and loved working with neo-natal and coronary patients. William finished his career after working for the CT Drug Control Agency. His hobbies included swimming, sailing, camping, travelling, and playing the harmonica. He will be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor and his willingness to go out of his way to help others. William is survived by his three children; Maxwell Finnance, of Coventry, CT, Hunter Finnance, of Andover, CT, and Kaitlin Finnance, of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his mother Helen B. Finnance, of Groton, CT, and his sister Karen S. Finnance, also of Groton. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved godfather and uncle, John Bondos Sr. of Shelton, CT., his beloved godmother and aunt, Elizabeth Walsh of Derby, CT., his aunt, Bertha Eccles of Shelton, CT and several much loved cousins. Services will be held at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer in Groton, CT, on Sat., July 26th, at 11 am, with a reception to follow.
